Did you know that just because Dean Winchester has had onscreen sexual relationships with women does not mean that he IS NOT QUEER AT ALL EVER IT CAN NEVER HAPPEN IN CANON EVER.

Did you know that just because Show presents and wants us to accept him as a totes mcgoats macho-face cis dudebro (and uses things like “LOL DEAN ARE YOU GOING THROUGH MENOPAUSE YOU WATCH DR SEXY WHAT IS UP WITH THAT” and “DEAN LIKES WEARING PINK SATINY PANTIES LAWLS” for… humor… because yeah binary ideas of gender and stereotypes like, “pink satiny panties and soap operas = inherently feminine” doesn’t smack of misogyny and grossness at all) — DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT DEAN WINCHESTER IS ACTUALLY A CIS DUDEBRO, OR THAT THIS IS THE ONLY VALID WAY OF INTERPRETING HIS CHARACTER AND IDENTITY.

Did you know that it’s really not funny to have some blatant examples of Dean checking out other men (Viktor, Ronald Resnik, and the random soldier guy in the Elliot Ness episode all come to mind), or to queer bait the way that Show does with Dean/Castiel, and then go LOL BUT WHERE ARE THOSE SILLY SLASH FANS GETTING THIS FROM, CLEARLY DEAN IS NOT BISEXUAL, HE’S THE MOST HETERO DUDE TO EVER HETERO — it’s erasing and marginalizing and gross and hey, fuck you, it changes absolutely nothing for Dean Winchester to be queer.

Did you know that you are being huge assholes when you defend a canon that is hurtful and oppressive and gross? Because you are. Because the only reason you have any leg to stand on when you say, “But Dean is straight~” or, “But Dean isn’t queer, duh~” IS THAT SHOW REFUSES TO HAVE THE KAJUNPAK’T TO MAKE GOOD ON ALL OF THESE IMPLICATIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HEY, GUESS WHAT, ONE OF THEIR MAIN CHARACTERS READS AS PRETTY GODDAMN QUEER TO A BUNCH OF PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THINGS THAT THEY PUT IN THE FUCKING TEXT.

But yeah okay I guess you’re right and I’m totally in the wrong for looking at canon evidence and going, “but wait… but excuse me… but… but this is pretty queer and as a queer person I would really like to see some representation in my favorite show, but… oh, okay, I’ll just… go over here… *Fluttershy wibbles in a corner.*” I’ll just return to clutching my GSM!Dean pearls over here and stop getting my queerness and my desire for queerness all over everything, because hey it’s not like I have any stories to tell that aren’t all about me being queer.
